About the authors

After obtaining her MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) from SCB Medical College, Cuttack, Natasha Das turned to freelance medical writing. For a brief period, she worked as Team Lead and Domain Expert for startup healthcare communications agency, iLogy Healthcare Solutions, Bengaluru. Now, she is back to freelancing with her own team of medical writers.

She has written hundreds of web-based articles for the general public as well as for specialized cardiology and diabetes websites. She has written health newsletters, conference reports, healthcare industry newsletters, overview articles, review articles, drug monographs, disease monographs, medical manuscripts, feature articles, slide kits, training programs, continuing medical education programs, student- and instructor-resources for National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) e-learning projects, and several referral handbooks for practitioners on emergency medicine, toxicology, drug contraindication, drug interaction etc. She had compiled the first two specialized drug indices in the Indian market – the Paediatric Index and the Obs & Gynae Index.

Natasha is the author of ' An Introduction to Medical Writing ' a chapter in the 'Basic Principles of Clinical Research and Methodology' which is a text book included in the syllabus for students at the Institute of Clinical Research, India (ICRI). She also offers an online course on How to Become a Medical Writer in India. Natasha is also a guest faculty for several institutes in India where she teaches medical writing. 

She is a Founder Member of the All India Medical Writers Association (AIMWA) and is actively involved in its activities.

Diego Pineda is a passionate medical writer. After obtaining a master’s degree in science and technology journalism from Texas A&M University he went to work for the nonprofit organization Immunizations for Public Health (i4ph) as a science writer. In this role, he has written more than a hundred articles on vaccines and immunizations, many of them published on the Web site of the National Network for Immunization Information (NNii).
